Are You a Holiday Show-off?
Are you a holiday show-off? Are you one of those who post Facebook updates about every single thing they do – even while they are doing them? Maybe you too upload pictures and tweet the name of the songs whilst your favourite band is playing them live, instead of enjoying the gig the traditional way.
If so, don’t worry, you are not the only one obsessed with broadcasting your life. And the fact that you won’t even take a break during your holidays, is not strange either: according to research carried out by T Mobile, as many as six in ten Brits use social media to boast while they are on holiday.
More than half of the Britons questioned in the poll said the purpose of uploading a photo of them in front of a landmark or at the beach, was to show off their mates and work colleagues back home.
There are many reasons for this cyber-display of joy. Six in ten said that they have the right to show they are happy, whereas 50% added the unarguable reason “everyone else does it.” Still, four in ten also confessed that they do it because they get the kicks out of winding people up.
But among them all, here is our favourite finding: 15% of Britons boast on Facebook or Twitter while on holiday to make their ex-partner jealous. (It would be interesting to have another stats to see what ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends at the other end care.)
If you want to make all your friends envious while on holiday, visit Florida with Kenwood Travel. With Disney World, hundreds of paradise beaches and many other incredible sites, you won’t be short of excuses for boasting online while on holiday in the Sunshine State. Go on, show-off!
