Poll: Miami’s New Baseball Stadium

The year has just started and already it promises to be a good one for Florida. For the sports-crazy types, for sure, and especially for the baseball-mad.

If everything goes according to plan, in April the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball Team will have a new home – the Marlins Ballpark stadium. The first game, the season opener against World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals, will be played in front of up to 37,000 baseball fans and other baseball-friendly folk.

According to Visit Florida, the Sunshine State’s official tourism operator, the new stadium is a $515 million operation. Located less than two miles from Miami’s downtown, in the Little Havana neighbourhood, the stadium has a retractable roof and air conditioning – really handy during heavy rains or mega-hot days.

Now, this is all great news for baseball. But would this shiny new stadium seduce us football lovers and fans of all other sports? Have your say!
